What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy playing in USTA tennis leagues, quilting, baking, playing piano and spending time with our two grandchildren.

What is your background?

I grew up in York, Nebraska.  My first job was pumping gas at my father’s gas station.  The summer before my senior year in high school, I spent as a foreign exchange student in Austria.  I didn’t speak any German but picked up a lot in the 10 weeks I was there.  I married my high school sweetheart a month after graduating from college.  I worked while my husband attended seminary.  When he became a Lutheran minister, I got to stay home and raise our 3 daughters.  We’ve lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana; Central City, Nebraska; Mantiowoc, Wisconsin, and have been in Eagle, NE for 20 years.  I began doing part-time church bookkeeping when my youngest was in middle school and eventually ended up at BMG.

What are your favorite industries to work with and why?

Churches – I love the caring people you get to interact with and the interesting payroll issues that apply to ministers.

What do you like about working at BMG?

I work part-time doing bookkeeping and payroll on site at two client’s offices.  I get to interact with staff at both offices, and feel like I am a part of their business.  When there are questions, I have the entire BMG staff to help answer them and to cover for me when I need to be gone.  It’s a perfect part-time job!

What makes you excited to come to work every day?

I enjoy seeing clients every week and helping to make their jobs easier by keeping their books in order.  Any way I can save them time makes me feel good!

What concept in your profession that applies to your entire life?

Pay your bills on time – it makes life so much easier!
