What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I am not at the office, you can find me at our kids’ sporting events and hanging out with friends. When I have time, I love working on craft projects.

What is your background?

I grew up on a farm near Dwight, Nebraska and had six siblings. Suppertime around the table was always interesting as it was a competition to see who could finish the first helping of food first as only the fastest got second helpings. That example, coupled with so many others, and the work that comes with living on the farm, has molded me to have a make-a-way/find-a-way attitude, a competitive spirit, a great work ethic, loyalty, integrity, and has guided me in how to get along well with others.

What do you do at BMG?

At BMG, I work very closely with my small business clients, from the inception of setting up their accounting systems so that it works best for them in their industry and their individual personalities to assisting them whenever they have a need. I believe that doing life includes building relationships and I want my clients to feel like they have a friend and someone looking out for their best interests when they are working with me.

What are the values that drive you?

The value that drives me most is treating others as I would want to be treated. I believe that is what builds relationships and trust, which is invaluable when working with clients.

What are your credentials/past experience for working in your position?

My experience for working in the position I am in started around 25 years ago when I was a stay-at-home mom and a few friends asked me to help them figure out how to set up their accounting systems for their businesses. There was a lot of trial and error as accounting software at that time was still not widely used and resources for assistance were scarce and/or expensive. My trial-and-error learning phase was invaluable in my education on how actual real-life numbers integrated into systems to produce what the client needed.
