What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, running, biking, hiking, and traveling.

What is your background?

I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. My dad is a consultant and my mom worked in the insurance industry, so I was always around business. I decided to follow in my dad’s footsteps and study accounting and data analytics at Nebraska Wesleyan University, which led me to BMG where he was an intern in college!

What do you like about working at BMG?

I enjoy working and learning from all of my coworkers and superiors at BMG. Everyone is welcoming and wants to make work enjoyable so it makes me look forward coming to work every day. With the culture and other staff, it allows me to grow and never stop learning more.

What makes you excited to come to work every day?

The staff and the work! Every day is different. I never quite know what I will be doing each day, which means I am always learning something new.

What are your credentials/past experience for working in your position?

Before coming to BMG, I was a teller at Union Bank & Trust. In this position, I learned a lot about the ins & outs of banking and customer service. This job helped me grow a lot as a person, and I met a lot of valuable connections and friends here. I was also the treasurer of my sorority while in college, where I gained a lot of valuable hands on experience before starting at BMG.

In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements. I try to apply this concept to my entire life – basically, don’t sweat the small stuff! In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements.
