What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy water activities during the summer, seeing live music and plays, movie trivia, true crime, ad spending time with my husband, Ricky and my daughter, Adaline.

What is your background?

I grew up in in a small town in southeast Iowa surrounded by lots of extended family and spent lots of time at the pool and at town activities. I have worked with numbers and administration in many industires including real estate, higher education, and accounting.

What are your favorite industries to work with and why?

I enjoy working with and learning about a variety of industries, but especially with small businesses like hair stylists, trade workers, and even newer industries like podcast/content creation and production.

What are the values that drive you?

Compassion, kindness, and integrity are values that I aspire to every day.

What are your credentials/past experience for working in your position?

I wasn’t trained as an accountant but was given increasing bookkeeping and accounting related responsibilities in my early work roles until I eventually joined an accounting firm. I love that this gives me a good perspective when interactive with clients who also may not have a numbers background.

In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements. I try to apply this concept to my entire life – basically, don’t sweat the small stuff! In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements.
