What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 8 month old son. It’s been so much fun experiencing life through my son’s eyes. Every day is filled with something new and exciting like watching him learn a new skill or seeing little bits of his personality shine through. We also like to explore all the different restaurants and parks around town.
What is your background?
I grew up in Lincoln and loved it so much I just never left. There’s nothing better than a Husker football Saturday, summer mornings spent at the Farmer’s Market, or an evening sushi date at Blue. Prior to working at BMG, I worked as an auditor at an international public accounting firm. I also spent some time working at Bryan Health as a financial analyst.
What are your favorite industries to work with and why?
There are so many great industries out there and each one has something that makes it special. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be nonprofits. I love learning about the mission of nonprofits and seeing how it’s being carried out in the community. Being able to be even a small part of fulfilling the mission means so much to me.
What do you like about working at BMG?
Working at BMG let’s me do what I like most – helping clients. An auditor is so much more than just someone who issues an opinion on the financial statements. A good auditor builds long lasting professional relationships, has a deep understanding of the business, and provides meaningful insights that help management make informed decisions.
What makes you excited to come to work every day?
What makes me excited about coming to work every day is the people. I value the relationships I build with my coworkers and our clients. Collaborating with a talented team and continuously learning while also being able to provide clients with accounting expertise to continue to pursue their dreams is very rewarding.
