What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, travelling, enjoy watching football, playing cards, summertime in my backyard oasis.
What is your background?
I was born in Sac City, IA and lived in Council Bluffs, IA until I was 10 when my father was transferred to Columbus, NE. I lived in Columbus where I graduated high school, was married and had four children before my husband was hired as a Roadmaster for a short line railroad in Globe, AZ. While we were in Arizona, I was hired as a receptionist for a CPA in Safford, AZ who saw a lot of promise in me. He promoted me to bookkeeper following tax season and put me through as much education at the local community college I could take without becoming a full-time student and having to enroll in the university which couldn’t have been done online at the time and was a couple hours away. He nurtured and encouraged me in my career field doing mostly bookkeeping, tax preparation and some payroll. We moved back to Nebraska when my husband was hired as a Safety Inspector for the Federal Railroad Administration based out of North Platte, although we lived in Ogallala, until my husband was relocated to Lincoln and we were able to be closer to our family. I have continued to work in the accounting field now specializing in payroll. I have just celebrated my 20th anniversary since I began under the guidance of that CPA. My husband and I are empty nesters now, but enjoy spending time together, going out for dinner at one of a couple of our favorite Mexican restaurants, camping, family game nights and travelling to our favorite destination, Arizona! We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in 2020 and are planning our first trip to Hawaii.
