What is your degree?

I am currently a Senior at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln finishing my last semester to complete by bachelors in Accounting.

What is your charitable involvement?

During my time at UNL, I was very active in my fraternity’s yearly philanthropy to raise money and bring awareness to the National MS Society, as well as participating in the University’s annual community service event called The Big Event.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I’m not working, I have many other interests that get me excited and motivated in my leisure time. I enjoy traveling! Two summers ago I had the opportunity to take part in a study abroad program in Barcelona, Spain. This past summer I took a trip to Colorado to go hiking, and following graduation in May I have plans to check out the Pacific Northwest by spending the week in Seattle. In addition to traveling, I really love live music. I have a few concerts lined up that got rescheduled from last summer that I hope won’t get pushed back too further.

What is your background?

I am originally from Manhattan, Illinois which is a south suburb of Chicago. Growing up near Chicago created an interest in two big things that have had a huge impact on my life: pizza and sports! Since coming to Lincoln for school, I have found those same comforts in the form of Husker Football and Runza. Before working at BMG, I was trying really hard to find somewhere in town that I could not only help, but also get some good practical work experience in my major as well. The college of business here at UNL really tries to hammer home the importance of valuable internship experience, and BMG has been a great fit.

In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements. I try to apply this concept to my entire life – basically, don’t sweat the small stuff! In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements.
