What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy hanging out with my wife, family, friends, watching movies & tv shows, golfing, and snow skiing.

Who has made an impact on you?

Starting in 6th grade through my senior year of high school, I was in TeamMates. My mentor was Vic Jacobsen. He was a retired high school teacher who had taught my parents in high school. He not only taught me how to play chess, but also pushed me t learn math and science subjects beyond my grade level.

 

What is a common question you get about your job and how do you answer it?

The most common question I get from people when I tell them I’m a tax accountant is: “Can you do my taxes?” Now I can tell them: “Absolutely, just come on down to BMG!”

In auditing, the concept of materiality is, simply, setting a threshold that anything under that threshold won’t materially misstate your financial statements.
